The policy and who we are

In accordance with The General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP), the law that replaces the Data Protection Act 1998 and applies in the UK from 25 May 2018, this privacy and data protection policy sets out the basis on how we collect any information, what we do with your information and what we do to keep it secure. It will also explain your rights over any personal information we hold on you and how you can instruct us if you prefer us to limit the use of that information.

We are Trentside Fixings Limited. A leading supplier of fixings, fasteners, containment, hand tools, power tools, PPE and much more to the construction industry and allied trades.

Trentside Fixings are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy and confidentiality of you and any data that you provide us with.

What information do we hold?

We hold information that you provide us with such as your name, postal address, email address, phone number and bank account details (for payments). This information is usually linked with the company you work on behalf of, however, in some occasion’s this information can be personal.

We also store information on what products you have previously purchased from us and also collect any information which may be filled in via the website if a quote request is received.

We also collect information from electronic communication you have received from us. From this communication we can track whether the communication has been opened, how many times, and on what links have been clicked on within that communication.

We can also collect or hold information from other sources such as credit agencies and marketing companies. For example, using a credit agency to help make credit decisions such as setting credit limits and payment terms.

How we use and process your information

We only use and process your data for the purposes we collected it. If we need to process your data for an unrelated purpose we will provide notice to you and, if required by law, seek your consent.

We gather your information to allow us to make our services available to you and process any requests or orders accordingly.

We also use your information to send you marketing material and to communicate company updates. We will only ever send you material or updates that are relevant to us as a supplier and to you as a customer.

We may share your data with any suppliers we work with to aid with delivery and means of contact when providing our products directly from our sources. These details to our knowledge are not used for any other reasons other than delivery uses and as a site contact.

If ever Trentside Fixings is sold or integrated with another business, your data may be disclosed to any potential purchasers’ and will be passed to new owners so that they can continue to provide the service that we currently provide. We will require the purchaser to follow the practise
